Location: St. John's
We're seeking an experienced Rotating Mechanical Technologist /Engineer to join the Reliability Engineering Team for a 1 Year contract, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience , preferably field experience with industrial pumps, compressors and turbines, with a strong background in reliability analytics and maintenance of rotating equipment .
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support troubleshooting activities for mechanical issues.
Lead and support reliability improvement initiatives, utilizing analytics to identify failure modes and recommend corrective actions.
Develop, optimize and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for rotating machinery.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses, and documentation for equipment failures and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Technology or Technician program, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience working with rotating equipment in industrial settings (oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, etc.).
Proven field experience in equipment troubleshooting , and repair .
Strong knowledge of reliability analytics , including failure analysis , condition monitoring , and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) .
Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., vibration analysis , CMMS (SAP) ).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to work in field environments and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced reliability tools (e.g., Weibull analysis, FMEA, RCA).
Familiarity with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME).
