Location: St. John's
Join the Fisheries and Marine Institute as an instructor in the Diploma of Marine Engineering Technology.
Your role will significantly impact student journeys in the marine transportation field.
This role requires at least 10 years of experience in marine transportation, ideally with a First-Class Engineer’s certificate from Transport Canada. You'll be instrumental in developing course materials, evaluating student performance, and working closely with industry partners. An integral part of this position includes developing online courses, which may involve some travel for additional industry training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and evaluate curriculum for Marine Engineering diploma
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback
• Liaise with industry partners to maintain program relevance
• Offer guidance on student career and placement options
• Participate in developing online learning courses
Requirements:
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience
• First-Class Engineer certification from Transport Canada
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in maritime studies
• Experience with high voltage systems is advantageous
• Teaching experience in post-secondary education preferred
