Location: St. John's
Elevate your engineering career with Brunel as a Senior Ground Control Engineer in Voisey’s Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, contributing to critical mining safety practices in a complex environment.
In this permanent and site-based role, you will provide vital technical leadership for ground control and geomechanical programs within the mining operation. Your focus will be on optimizing risk management and planning to ensure safe production activities. This role requires close collaboration across teams to continuously improve ground safety measures and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage implementation of Ground Control Management Plans
• Lead risk assessments for annual mining strategies
• Develop comprehensive ground stability management processes
• Ensure technical support for excavation stability
• Lead action plans following geotechnical assessments
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering (preferably in Mining)
• At least 4 years of experience in underground mining
• Proficient understanding of geomechanical principles
• Knowledge of ground control software tools
• Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities
