Location: St. John's
Overview
As a designer, you’ll be involved in delivering engineering projects, selecting technology and helping execute projects in the hydroelectric power sector. You’ll be based at our Jonquière office and play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables.

Design various systems and equipment in 3D
Work with point clouds (3D scanning)
Select equipment for hydroelectric, mining and industrial applications
Create layout drawings of mechanical equipment and systems
Perform onsite technical information surveys
Perform detailed calculations
Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
Prepare plans and specifications based on guidelines

Job Requirements
College diploma in mechanical engineering technology
Experience with 3D design
Available for short assignments at client sites
Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally
Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
Asset: familiar with Solid Works, Revit, Smart Plant 3D, CADWorx, Ansys and AutoCAD applications
Asset: knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, welded assemblies and structural design
Asset: multidisciplinary knowledge (electricity and automation)
