- Conduct comprehensive hydrogeological assessments to evaluate groundwater resources and quality, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Design and implement groundwater monitoring programs, including the installation of observation wells and data collection methodologies.
- Analyze hydrological data using advanced software tools to interpret groundwater flow and contaminant transport models.
- Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers to develop integrated solutions for water resource management.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on groundwater-related issues during project planning and execution phases.
- Participate in field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, to gather essential data for project development.
- Mentor junior hydro geologists and support their professional development through training and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in hydrogeology to enhance project outcomes.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored hydrogeological solutions that align with project objectives.
- Ensure all work adheres to company policies, safety standards, and environmental best practices.
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting in proposal preparation.
- A Master's degree or higher in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in hydrogeology or a closely related discipline.
- Proven expertise in groundwater modeling software such as MODFLOW, GMS, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of hydrogeological principles, groundwater flow, and contaminant transport mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards relevant to groundwater management in Canada.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Professional designation as a Registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with GIS software for spatial analysis and data visualization.
- Knowledge of groundwater remediation techniques and technologies.
- Previous experience in business development or client relationship management.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and permitting processes.
- Proficient in hydrogeological modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, GMS)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python)
- Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
