NSB Omega is searching for a Project Engineer - Electrical for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.
Assignment Description
our Client and its subsidiaries require the services of one individualtojoinitsengineeringandprojectmanagementteam.
Theindividualwillsupportthe execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador for our Project Execution Team (Non – Regulated).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Providetechnicalsupporttothe Project Manageronvarious projects;
Performengineeringduediligenceforprojectplanningand delivery;
Facilitate and/orcompleteprojectriskmanagementincludingriskidentificationand associated mitigation;
Perform project scope verifications, field verifications, engineering data gathering, and associated detailed project planning activities;
Reviewtenderpackagespreparedbyotherconsultantsand contractors;
Reviewandapproveshopdrawingspreparedbycontractorsand vendors;
Preparetenderpackagesfor contracts;
Preparerequestsforproposals (RFPs);
Providetechnicalinputasadesignteammemberforprojectsandothertechnical documentation;
Overseeingqualityplanningandassociatedinspectionplansforassigned work
Reviewandapprovereportspreparedby consultants;
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required;
Conductregulartravelto Field/sitelocationstomonitorconstructionactivities,oversee testing, verify project progress, and provide support to site teams;
Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacross stakeholders;
Reviewandapprovetechnicaldocumentation,including commissioning;
Assistwithprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;
Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovative approaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;
SubmittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewithNLHydro’sproject management requirements;
Otherdutiesas assigned.
EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Engineeringdegreein Electrical Engineering.
Registered as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association(orotherCanadian engineering association);
10yearsormoreexperienceoverseeingprojectengineeringinan
Electrical environment;
Experienceinprojectscopedefinition,engineeringdatagathering,and associated detailed project planning activities
Experienceleadingprojectriskidentificationsand mitigations
Experiencewithonsiteprojectmonitoringatremote locations
Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;
Experiencewithprojectqualityandinspection programs
Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;
Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;
