- Structures for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.

Assignment Description

Our Client and its subsidiaries are seeking a Project Manager
- Structures for their Non-Regulated team. The position will focus primarily on projects relating to water control structures at Churchill Fallsbutmaybeassignedotherprojectworkbasedonbusinessprioritiesandasneed arises.

• Leadprojectsfrominitiationtocompletion,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredsafely,on time, and within budget;
• Developandmanageprojectscopes,schedules,and budgets,including regular reporting to NL Hydro leadership;
• Coordinatewithengineeringteamstoensureengineeringdesigns,specifications,and deliverables meet corporate standards and applicable codes.
• Overseeandreviewtenderpackages,participateincontractevaluationandaward processes, ensuring quality and value for NL Hydro;
• Manageprojectteams,includinginternalengineers,contractors,and consultants,to achieve project objectives;
• Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;
• Identify,evaluate,andmitigateprojectrisks,andmaintaintheprojectriskregister throughout the project lifecycle;
• Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacrossstakeholders,ensuringthatapprovedproject changes are reflected in the active budget and schedule;
• EnsurecontractorcompliancewithNLHydro’sContractor Safety Management Planand  corporate and Contractor HSE policies;
• Leadprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;
• Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovative approaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;
• SubmittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewithNLHydro’sproject management requirements;
• Otherdutiesas assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association.
  
  Equivalentprofessionalengineering(P.Eng) registrationcanbe considered;
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationfromthe
  
  Project
  
  Management Institute (PMI) or other similar Project Management certification is preferred;
• Strongknowledgeoftheprocurementandcontractingprocess,contractor management and contract negotiation skills;
• Strongexperienceinprojectcontrols,planning,scheduling,andestimatingis considered an asset;
• Experiencewithmanagingprojectsforwatercontrolstructuresanddamsisconsidered an asset;
• Provenexperiencemanagingcomplexprojectsinremote locations;
• Strong background in coordinating and managing multidisciplinary engineering project teams(e.g.,electrical,civil,mechanical) andcollaboratingwithdesignandconstruction groups;
• Demonstratedabilitytomanageprojectsonoperationalindustrialsites,including contractor supervision and adherence to site-specific safety requirements;
