Job Overview:
John Fleming Insurance is growing and looking for career-minded professionals to join our team in this journey. We are looking to train someone from the ground up, learning PL and CL the right way. For those with an entrepreneurial mindset, the opportunities are there to partner and provide mentorship in the purchase of a new brokerage. We have financing available through our partners with Bank of Montreal.

John Fleming Insurance is an independent broker NOT part of any larger group. We have access to all large insurers in Canada. We have been around for over 40 years and have been committed to customer service and educating our customers on making informed and tailored insurance decisions. JFI is 100% Canadian owned and located in Burnaby. We have partnered with industry leading Insurance Companies and MGAs in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Level 1 preferred
  • 3 months ICBC insurance experience
  • Good command of English language.
  • Living in the Vancouver / tri‑city area
Salary & Progression Path
  • $45,000 CSR (Level
    1)
    Base start‑out salary. Start learning how to quote home insurance, take claims info, BMS quoting / learn about insurer portals, how files are handled, endorsements, abeyances. Learn about how commercial files are handled, renewals, endorsements, invoicing and sending policies to customers following brokerage best procedure, practices and checklists.
  • $50,000 CSR (Level 1 or
    2)
    You now know how to quote all types of home insurance correctly, complete applications and renewals / endorsements, use insurer portals / BMS quoting and discuss basic coverage points with customers. You can now handle both personal and commercial processing files properly and send customers applications to sign and send back and send to insurers to place coverage.
  • $55,000 Account Executive I (Level
    2)
    You can now remarket, renew / quote / bind / issue home insurance policies to customers all on your own without supervision following brokerage best procedures and practices. You retain at least 95% of the split you manage and can now handle more complicated questions from customers and deal directly with customers on claims. You can set up and send commercial submissions and send off to insurers following up on quotes in a timely manner.
  • $60,000 Account Executive II (Level
    2)
    In addition to the above, you now can quote bind and issue small commercial policies under $2500 in premium. You can discuss basic coverage points with customers.
  • $65,000 Account Executive III (Level
    2)
    You now have the experience and knowledge to build upon all you have learnt above and handle commercial policies and discuss all points with customers.
  • $70,000+ Account Executive IV (Level
    2)
    You have your own growing book of business (min. $200,000 P&C premium (50/50 commission split)) with your own contacts, friends and family, and you also work full time in the office as an account executive. You are busy working hard and making over $100K per year servicing both house clients and your own book on your own time.
