Position SummaryThe Maintenance Lead plays a key role in ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of The Gathering Place's facilities. In addition to performing a wide range of maintenance and repair duties, this position provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and coordination for maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and repairs including drywall, painting, carpentry, flooring, ceiling tile work, and minor plumbing repairs.
- Prioritize daily maintenance activities, service requests, and preventative maintenance schedules, including day-to-day guidance and support for Maintenance Workers
- Coordination and oversight of contractors and service providers performing work on site.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot building maintenance issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment and assist with ordering and procurement as required.
- Respond to emergency repair needs outside of regular working hours when required.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety standards and organizational policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support facility operations.
- Certificate in Carpentry, a Red Seal trade certification or equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring maintenance staff is an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general building maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor repairs to building systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance requests
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and building safety requirements.
- Solid understanding of safe work practices and health and safety protocols.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
Equivalencies in education and experience will be considered.
