As the Logistics Manager, you will lead PF Collins' freight forwarding operations, overseeing the movement of cargo by air, ocean, and surface transport. Reporting to the Vice-President, Operations, you'll guide a dedicated team, strengthen relationships with carriers, agents, and clients, and drive the continued profitability and growth of the division. What

You'll Be Doing Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing and coordinating all freight forwarding activities by air, ocean, and surface transport, working with carriers, agents, and warehousing facilities across all directions and cargo types.
  • Creating, maintaining, and communicating freight department policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Ensuring PF Collins remains compliant with all applicable legislation, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the freight forwarding team.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, employee development, and excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring the continued profitability of freight forwarding services.
  • Developing and maintaining reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Contributing to client contract negotiations and rate proposals.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with service providers, including rate negotiation and problem resolution.
What You'll Bring
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a management or supervisory role within international freight forwarding or a related field.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • A Canadian Association of Logistics Providers (CIFFA) Certificate.
  • Current knowledge of relevant legislation and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
  • Knowledge of special handling and transport requirements for specialized cargo, such as oversized cargo, perishables, live animals, and hazardous goods.
  • Operational and technical knowledge of Transportation Management software systems.
  • A CIFFA Professional Freight Forwarder (PFF) designation is preferred.
