Location: St. John's
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Ksyen Regional Hospital. The role requires practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice and the code of ethics outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives within a patient and family centred care model. The registered nurse will work in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure client‑centered care.
ShiftRotation / Hours of Work
Days, Evenings, 07:00 to 17:30 (rotating)
Qualifications- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant (BCCNM)
- Successful completion of recognized advanced clinical preparation in the assigned renal specialty area and three years recent related experience in that area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Valid BC Driver’s License required
- Assessment and Intervention – Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate interventions
- Communication – Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and interdisciplinary team members using verbal, written and computer communication means
- Critical Thinking – Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively
- Human Caring and Relationship‑Centred Practice – Ability to promote client‑focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, advocacy and social justice concerns
- Teaching – Ability to transmit information to clients and others about essential health care topics
- Management – Ability to manage time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others and collaboration across disciplines
- Leadership – Ability to promote staff morale, cooperation, assertiveness, risk‑taking, and innovation, and to implement policies or other protocols and support ongoing professional development
- Knowledge Integration – Using factual information, prior learning and basic principles to support decisions and actions with research‑based evidence, integrating best practice from nursing and health‑related disciplines and the humanities, arts and sciences
- Technical – Ability to operate relevant equipment including relevant computer applications
- Physical – Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
