About CFMWS Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) supports Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their families in their daily lives by providing programs and services that enhance mental, social, physical, financial and familial well‑being.
Role Overview The Retail Attendant will deploy overseas for six months as part of a civilian team supporting CAF personnel across partner nations. The position includes retail and food service duties, customer interaction, and contribution to morale and welfare activities.
Responsibilities Provide customer service in the retail store, including handling cash and card transactions.
Prepare and serve Tim Hortons beverages and menu items following portion and presentation standards.
Operate and maintain retail and food‑service equipment.
Restock inventory, organize store displays, and ensure product quality meets established standards.
Assist with recreation activities and events to support troop morale.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications Canadian citizenship and valid Canadian passport.
Valid driver's licence (province).
Experience in cash handling and POS operations.
Experience preparing and serving menu items in a food service setting.
Ability to operate and maintain retail/food service equipment.
Strong client focus, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership skills.
Additional Qualifications (Pre‑deployment) Completion of health, dental and psychosocial assessment.
Security screening.
Standard First Aid with CPR/AED LevelC or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Capacity to walk, lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.
Language Requirements English essential – functional oral communication.
Job Information
Contract:
6‑month civilian deployment.
Location:
Latvia (deployment); training in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Hours:
Up to 56 hours per week (weekday and weekend).
Benefits Tax‑free allowance up to $1,756 per month.
Paid home leave and travel allowance.
Accommodations and meals provided during deployment.
