The Role  Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months supervising a retail store for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world. As a deployed Retail Supervisor, you will provide retail services while enhancing the morale and welfare of all deployed troops.
The Retail Supervisor is part of an enthusiastic team that enjoys meaningful employment and a team-based environment. You are a team player with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting, able to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities   Lead and manage the retail team and operations to ensure success.
Enforce health, hygiene, safety, and security standards and programs.
Prepare regular cash audits, periodically reconcile deposits, authorize refunds, voids, and returns, and manage keys, safe combinations, and access codes.
Ensure distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels.
Conduct effective monthly inventories and manage contracts; understand store financial statements, inventory management, and supply chain.
Implement and maintain loss prevention controls.
Enhance morale by assisting with recreational activities and events to keep CAF and partner nations energized.

Qualifications   Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience; a valid driver’s license (Province);
Canadian citizenship; must have a valid Canadian passport.
Experience
In supervising and leading staff in operational retail or service settings; coordinating multi-service/outlet operations; managing inventory, ordering, and reconciliation processes; cash handling, deposits, audits, and financial reporting; preparing operational, sales, and merchandising reports; addressing customer service issues, staffing challenges, and supply disruptions; applying policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Additional Qualifications Prior To Deployment
Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment; security screening;
Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain; ability to walk and lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.

Job Information   Position Type
Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may occur within the next 2 years.
Hours of Work
Maximum 56 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.
Benefits   Tax-free allowance: up to $1,756 per month in addition to salary (rates depend on mission/location/date).
Home leave and travel allowance: paid leave and travel allowance.
Accommodations and meals: provided for deployment.
