Healthcare Mobile Security Officers - Casual - St. John's
Site Description:
Reporting to the Security Operations Lead, the Mobile Officer is integral to the functioning of Paladins field operations and business continuity. In this dynamic role, officers are required to have superior time management and multitasking skills, as well as a propensity for a high level of customer service. Mobile officers are required to work independently while maintaining coordination amongst coworkers; they are required to be both flexible and adaptable.

Site: Mobile Patrols, St. John's area
Overtime: Overtime after 80 hours paid biweekly
Hours: As Needed
Payrate: $ 19.90/hour

Key responsibilities:
- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Access Control:
Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas. - Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats.
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately.
- Collaboration with Hospital Staff:
Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. - Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Criminal Record Check /Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
- Tuberculosis (TB) Screening: All healthcare workers must undergo assessment for tuberculosis.
- Vaccination Documentation: Proof of completion of the full series of childhood/primary vaccinations is required.
- Tdap Vaccine: One dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is required upon reaching 18 years of age and a booster short every 10 years.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- English fluency (oral and written)
