Confluent seeks a Staff Software Engineer I to spearhead core control-plane infrastructure development. Utilize your expertise in distributed systems while driving initiatives that enhance our Confluent Cloud products.
In this influential role, you will own the architecture and delivery of complex control-plane systems, collaborating closely with teams to ensure high reliability. You will lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and create a positive engineering culture through knowledge sharing and clear documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee architecture and delivery of APIs and controllers
• Clarify requirements for open-ended technical initiatives
• Design systems with strong observability and operational metrics
• Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team
• Improve developer tooling and CI/CD processes
Requirements:
• Minimum 6 years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Go, Java, or Scala programming languages
• Expertise in cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
• Strong leadership in cross-team collaborations
• Clear communication skills and operational discipline
