Location: St. John's
Contribute to the safe transport of special needs students as a Bus Aide. This vital role involves direct support, ensuring students' needs are prioritized during their journey.
As a Special Needs Bus Aide, you will facilitate the safe boarding and de-boarding of students while providing assistance based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). You should have experience with diverse challenges and an ability to foster a cooperative relationship with the driver.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students boarding and de-boarding safely
• Address individual student needs according to IEPs
• Help maintain discipline as guided by transportation policies
• Document incidents and ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Manage and secure special equipment for passengers
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Positive attitude and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with working with challenged individuals
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergencies
• CDL with P and S endorsements is advantageous
