Stores Worker

Responsibilities
  • Use the computerized Materials Management system to support the Goods and Services process, including monitoring work orders, expediting and issuing/kitting materials.
  • Perform warehouse duties such as receiving, storing, issuing and shipping materials.
  • Assign designated bin locations for stocked materials.
  • Operate forklift in loading and off‑loading of materials.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and safety checks on mobile equipment.
  • Participate in all scheduled inspections including planned general inspections and equipment inspections.
  • Participate in inventory counts and perform normal housekeeping duties.
  • Perform additional duties related to or associated with this classification.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure personal safety and that of co‑workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program.
  • Handle any environmental aspects of the job and perform work in an environmentally responsible manner.
Qualifications
  • High school graduation and completion of a one‑year business administration program, an inventory management program (including warehousing and distribution), or two introductory courses or logistics/transportation technical courses in Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) Supply Management Training, or equivalent PMAC Level I (formerly APICS) program, plus one year of warehousing experience in an industrial or utility environment.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory systems and Microsoft Suite of Applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations and safety rules, including W.H.M.I.S. and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift operator’s certificate required; training can be provided.
  • If no industrial/utility experience, candidates with other warehousing experience may be considered.
