Pulmonary Critical Care – PRN – Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner – Piedmont Henry Hospital
Join the critical care team at Piedmont Henry Hospital as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Pulmonary Critical Care. The role provides direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients, assists in management of ICU settings, and contributes to research, teaching, and organizational leadership.
OverviewAssists in management of critically ill patients, applies specialized skills in all ICU settings, and leads excellence in patient care and education.
Responsibilities- Provides direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients under physician supervision.
- Obtains patient histories, performs physical examinations, and documents findings.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests and explains results to patients and staff.
- Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures and documents them per hospital requirements.
- Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, and advanced cardiac life support procedures.
- Manages arterial, central venous, pulmonary artery catheters, central line, chest tubes, and extraglottic airway devices.
- Institutes emergency interventions and stabilizes patients.
- Participates in clinical research, quality improvement, and education of nursing and team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school with a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s degree in Acute Care Nursing, or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current Georgia State Composite Board license.
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia or Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse (ACNP).
- Credentialed in all procedures, including intubation.
- ACLS certification and completion of a Difficult Airway Course.
- Proficiency in interpreting ABGs, CXRs, ultrasounds, CT of chest.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain CME hours, state license, and participate in education and onboarding of new hires.
