Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring recent travel nursing experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Telemetry unit with 32 beds

• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with a focus on cardiac, pulmonary, post-surgical, and overflow IMCU cases

• Common cases include CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary issues, cardiac arrhythmias, post-cardiac cath, DKA, and occasional vascular, ortho, or stroke patients

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6

• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend required

• Floating to other units within the facility is expected

• Rare call requirements with a 2-hour response time

• Epic charting experience preferred;
Pyxis and SBAR systems used

• Expected to cover major holidays; number of required holidays worked depends on assignment duration

• Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed, none permitted during the first week

• Navy blue scrubs required for this assignment

• No blocked scheduling permitted

• Clinical screening process required; compliance must be completed prior to start

• Perm or PRN employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year before returning as a traveler

• If unable to return to one facility, a successful assignment at an outside location is needed before rebooking at another Piedmont location

• Travel pairs cannot be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements

• Current GA or compact RN license required

• Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry experience as a traveler; first-time travelers are not accepted

• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Comprehensive arrhythmia management and cardiac drip experience required, including amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, and lasix

• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and post-PCI care required

• Must be proficient with Med/Surg nursing responsibilities

• Two managerial or higher supervisory references required for consideration
