Springfield Surgery has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our busy and friendly practice team. We are looking for a part time receptionist/administrator who would like to be part of a thriving, forward thinking GP practice in Hazel Grove, Stockport.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will be flexible and able to multi-task in the reception/administrator role and undertake a range of duties including:
- Signposting to Pharmacy First
- Filing/scanning
- Communicating with patients, clinicians & external organisations both on the telephone and face to face
- Make appointments & respond to various queries
- other general support to colleagues as required
You will be an integral part of the Practice team, working with reception team, Medical secretaries & clinical staff.
Extra hours and flexibility will be expected to cover colleagues holidays and sickness
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
Processing patient requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional and service provider.
Working hours will be: Wednesday 8am-12.30pm Thursday 8am-4pm Friday 8am-6pm
Job responsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the itemsin the following list. Duties may bevaried from time to time under the direction of the Asst Practice Manager/Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
- Opening up/locking up of practice premise sand maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Monitoring and actioning incoming Accurx requests for online requests
- GCSE grades 4 and above in English & Maths
- Experience in working in a GP practice or medical environment
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£12.21 an hour Salary will increase once established in the post
