Stockport NHS Foundation Trust has been recently selected as one of four specialist hospitals in the Greater Manchester Region, which willincrease the workload and diversity of patients being referred for GI input.

We are seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologists to join our expanding team and department. We invite candidates who have a passion for leadership and want to be part of a dynamic team and are willing to work in fast paced and busy department.

Job responsibilities

This is an ideal time to join the most rapidly expanding team who have established a dedicated seven day GI bleed rota.

This is an extremely exciting time to join a growing specialist hospital, co-located with the serene rural setting to the south and the bustling urbanvibe of Manchester to the North including excellent links via airport and rail. The area has excellent state and private schools.

You are important to us, therefore as a Trust we have committed to investing in you! We have an excellent track record of developing our Consultants and supporting the development of specialist interests/ service implementation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Manage gastroenterology patients and participate in the GI Bleed and consultant of the week rotas. The post holder will be expected to participate in supervising, teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff, medical students and specialist nurses. Participate in regular departmental auditand help with/develop a research program.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
