The post is offered on a full-time basis; flexible working may be considered after discussion with the Clinical Director and depending on service needs.

The post holder will be part of the Consultant Respiratory Physician team, providing a respiratory inpatient and outpatient service.

To develop the Respiratory services and participate in multidisciplinary meetings in relation to service improvement.

We are looking to strengthen clinical pathways between primary, secondary and specialist community care to provide a truly integrated high quality respiratory service.

The post holder may therefore be expected to support the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager with business cases for various service developments.

Subspecialty interests are encouraged and subspecialty leads will typically attract additional 0.25 SPA. Newly appointed consultant staff will be given appropriate support within their role.

This includes opportunities for the successful post holder to access appropriate clinical/peer mentoring.

Contribute to the General Medical on-call Rota.

Provide professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.

Conduct teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and for contributing to postgraduate and continuing medical education activity.

Participate in audit, clinical governance, annual job plan, and appraisal.
