Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Location: Stockport
Position: Teaching Assistant – Year 2
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

The Role:

A fantastic primary school in Stockport is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and help pupils flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Year 2 teacher with lesson planning and delivery
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social development
  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and materials
  • Monitor pupil progress and wellbeing, reporting to the teacher
  • Help maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with primary-aged children (Year 2 experience preferred)
  • A genuine passion for education and child development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education/support work (desirable but not essential)
