Scale 5 points 12-17 | Hourly rate £14.82 - £16.08 - FTE is £28,598 - £31,022
Actual Salary for 29.25 hours TTO is £19,377 - £20,967 per annum (additional hours may be available)

Hours of Post:
From 29.25 hours per week term time only
Mon 8.40am - 2.45pm
Tues 8.40am - 2.45pm
Weds 8.40am - 4pm
Thurs 8.40am - 2.45pm
Fri 8.40am - 2.45pm

Castle Hill High School is a special school for students, aged 11-18, with significant and complex needs. We currently have 340 students on roll. Our most recent Ofsted inspection, in July 2023, judged the school to be Outstanding. Specific Duties
  • Work collaboratively with the Pupil Support team to address the needs of pupils who require support with overcoming barriers to learning
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and establish a safe and supportive environment
  • Assisting pupils in developing social and emotional skills, promoting self-regulation and resilience
  • Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning/behaviour and the consequences for their actions/decisions
  • Support pupils’ access to learning, using appropriate strategies, resources etc.
  • Good literacy and ICT skills
You will need
  • Previous experience of working with young people with SEND
  • Previous experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of behaviour regulation strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils, parents and staff
  • Empathy, patience and resilience to work effectively with pupils facing social, emotional and mental health challenges
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity and equality in education
  • To demonstrate confidence and adaptability in challenging circumstances
