We are looking for a dedicated Youth Mentor to support young people in Stockport, guiding them through personal, social, and academic challenges. As a Youth Mentor, youll work with students facing SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs to help them develop life skills, build confidence, and improve their overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one mentoring to young people, offering emotional support and guidance.
Help students build life skills, boost self-esteem, and improve social interactions.
Assist students in setting and achieving personal goals, creating action plans for success.
Offer academic support, particularly in English and Maths, as needed.
Act as a positive role model and build strong, trusting relationships with students.
Report regularly on student progress to parents/carers and other professionals.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring or support role.
Experience supporting students with SEMH or other additional needs.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role working with young people facing academic or personal challenges.
Qualification in Youth Work, Social Care, or a related field.
