Y6 Class Teacher needed - Stockport

GSL Education Manchester is working in partnership with a welcoming and well‑led one‑form entry primary school in Stockport, seeking an experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to start immediately through to the end of the academic year.

This is a crucial Upper KS2 role, and the school is specifically looking for a teacher with proven SATs experience who can confidently lead pupils through preparation, revision, and assessment.

This one‑form entry school offers a close‑knitted, supportive environment where staff work collaboratively and leadership is highly visible and hands‑on. Behaviour is well managed, expectations are clear, and pupils are supported both academically and pastorally.

The school values consistency, structure, and high standards, particularly during this important Year 6 period.

You will take full class responsibility for Year 6, including:

• Delivering high‑quality lessons across the Upper KS2 curriculum
• Leading structured SATs preparation in Reading, SPaG, and Maths
• Tracking progress and identifying targeted interventions
• Working closely with teaching assistants and SLT
• Supporting pupils’ transition into secondary school

This role requires confidence, organisation, and strong curriculum knowledge.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent and demonstrable Year 6 SATs experience (essential)
• Strong understanding of assessment frameworks and data tracking
• Confident classroom management and high expectations
• Ability to drive progress and maintain pupil motivation
