Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an outstanding specialist education provider in Stockport to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their experienced and supportive team.

This well-established specialist provision supports children and young people with a wide range of complex needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
• Complex communication needs
• Sensory impairments
• Physical disabilities and medical needs

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students access education, develop life skills, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting students with communication, personal development, and learning activities
• Assisting with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
• Promoting independence and life skills development
• Supporting students with personal care where required
• Working alongside teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
• Encouraging positive engagement and participation in learning
• Creating a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

• Experience with in education, healthcare, residential care, support work, or youth work
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• An understanding of autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, or complex needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A positive, proactive, and caring approach
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic environment
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
