Primary Teaching Assistant

The Primary Teaching Assistant works in partnership with the class teacher and wider Primary team to help every student feel safe, included and ready to learn. The role provides responsive in-class support, delivers agreed interventions and phonics teaching, reinforces high expectations for learning and behaviour, and contributes to an engaging and well-organised learning environment. The postholder exercises initiative within agreed plans while recognising that the class teacher retains responsibility for whole-class planning, teaching, assessment and communication about student progress.
