A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Stockport from September. The successful candidate will work within the school's dedicated SEND base
, supporting children with additional needs from EYFS through to Year
6. This is a role where consistency and strong relationships really matter, so the right person needs to be committed to staying long term.
- Located in Reddish area, Stockport
, the school is a large mainstream primary setting with around 400 pupils
, covering children from nursery through to Year 6. It's situated close to Reddish North railway station and local bus stops, making it accessible for candidates travelling by public transport. - You'll be based within the school's dedicated SEND provision
, supporting children from EYFS through to Year 6 with a range of additional needs, while remaining part of the wider mainstream school community. - This is a full-time, long-term position from September
, with stability particularly important for the children being supported. You'll work closely with the wider team to support pupils' learning, communication, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
- Has genuine experience working with SEND
, ideally within a UK school setting. Experience from other sectors such as care, youth work, residential support or similar will also be considered where the skills are transferable. - Is reliable, consistent and genuinely committed to a long-term position, understanding how important familiar and trusted adults are for children with additional needs.
- Is a strong team player who is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with the confidence to support children with a range of SEND needs and contribute positively to the wider school team.
