SEND Teaching Assistant
Location

Pay - GBP
500-GBP
550 per week, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant/Support Worker who is confident working with SEN pupils? Prospero Teaching is working with a Special Needs School in Stockport who are in need of Teaching Assistants across the school. This school supports pupils between 4 - 19 years of age.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:- Support pupils on 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage in learning and regulate emotions
- Need to be comfortable providing personal care to pupils
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and sometimes high-risk behaviours, using positive behaviour strategies
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils
- Work closely with other staff members, SEN professionals and external agencies to support development
- Experience working with children or young people
- Experience working with SEN needs such as severe Autism, Complex Learning Needs and Sensory Impairments
- Experienced providing personal care
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
- Confidence in setting boundaries and following behaviour management plans consistently.
- Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
- Psychology, Speech and Language Graduates, Teaching Assistants, Care and Support Workers are ideal for this school
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.
