CAD​/CAM Programmer

We’re hiring for a CAD/CAM Programmer to join a specialist manufacturing business based in Cheadle.
In this role you’ll be responsible for designing tooling and programming CNC machinery, overseeing projects from initial CAD modelling through to final machining. This position suits someone who enjoys being involved in the full manufacturing process rather than purely office-based design work.

* Mon – Fri | 7am – 4pm OR 8am – 5pm

What will you be doing as a CAD/CAM Programmer?
 
* Creating 3D CAD models using Solid Works
 
* Producing CAM programmes for CNC machining
 
* Programming machines using Hypermill, Alpha

CAM, Fusion 360, Feature

CAM or similar
 
* Managing multiple tooling projects from concept through to manufacture
 
* Working closely with toolmakers and CNC machinists on the shop floor
 
* Checking machined components using verniers and inspection equipment
 
* Supporting the toolroom team with technical advice and project planning
 
* Overseeing projects from design stage through to finished tooling
What will you need?
 
* Experience in CAD/CAM programming within a toolroom or manufacturing environment
 
* Strong CAD modelling skills (Solid Works preferred)
 
* Experience using CAM software for CNC programming
 
* Understanding of tooling, machining processes and manufacturing workflows
 
* Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
