We are looking for an experienced and committed Family Engagement Resolution Officer to join our EHCP Service and help improve the experience of children, young people and families across Stockport.

You will support the early, constructive resolution of concerns, dissatisfaction and disputes before they escalated into formal complaints or appeals where this is possible and appropriate. Working directly and collaboratively with families, colleagues and partners, you will help people understand issues, rebuild relationships and agree practical ways forward. You will also ensure that themes from complaints and disputes are accurately captured, monitored and used to improve services.

You will have experience of a resident-focused service and a strong understanding of education, SEND, an EHCP service or a relevant local government setting. You will be confident managing complaints, disputes or resolution casework and able to communicate sensitively and clearly in challenging circumstances.

You will bring effective negotiation, influencing and analytical skills, alongside the ability to manage a varied workload and deliver work to a high standard. You will be collaborative, organised and focused on practical solutions, with a commitment to keeping Stockport residents at the heart of what you do and demonstrating the Council’s values of Stockport, Team, Ambition and Respect.

Stockport Council’s EHCP Service works with children, young people, families, education settings and partner agencies to support positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND. This role is part of our commitment to earlier engagement, constructive resolution and learning from family experience.

The role offers the opportunity to shape how we respond to concerns, strengthen relationships with families and use learning from casework to improve practice.
