About the RoleSenior Windows Specialist – hardware driver integration, packaging, and troubleshooting at scale in a growing global multi‑airport environment. The role holder will be fully responsible for hardware integration across our global common‑use platform.
Ideal candidates understand how Windows interacts with hardware in mission‑critical environments and can troubleshoot drivers, devices, and system configuration. Experience with airport or common‑use environments is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities- Assess, package, and deploy all new driver versions and updates across the estate.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to shape peripheral middleware direction.
- Manage technical conflicts, versioning, and produce clear technical documentation.
- Act as escalation point for device‑related issues during site deployments and live support, with occasional on‑site travel worldwide.
- Automate deployment and configuration of hardware peripherals wherever possible.
- Partner directly with equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting, release management, and feedback.
- Work primarily in the office to access lab environments and physical peripherals.
- Travel occasionally to global customer sites.
- Maintain flexible working hours to collaborate with diverse global teams and customers.
- Strong understanding of Windows OS fundamentals, including processes, services, startup mechanisms, and registry structure.
- Proven experience troubleshooting Windows hardware interactions in real‑world environments.
- Hands‑on experience supporting peripherals such as printers, scanners, payment terminals, and USB/serial devices.
- Diagnosis skills for driver conflicts, device recognition issues, and intermittent hardware faults.
- Knowledge of driver installation lifecycle, Device Manager, USB device behaviour, and common failure points.
- Experience with Group Policy (GPO), Intune/Endpoint Manager, application packaging tools, device hardening, and security.
- Troubleshooting mindset that goes beyond basic fixes.
- Strong scripting skills, especially Power Shell.
- Automation‑first mindset, ideally with Dev Ops experience.
