Position: Laboratory Colourist / Technician (Permanent)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Lab Colourist to join our manufacturing team within the window blinds and technical fabrics sector. This role is central to ensuring our fabrics meet strict quality, performance and colour standards before entering production.

You will be responsible for testing raw materials and finished fabrics, developing and controlling colour shades, and working closely with R&D, Design and Production to ensure every fabric meets customer and technical specifications.

Job Responsibilities

* Perform colour matching, shade control and colour development on fabrics and raw materials

* Carry out liquor evaluation during dyeing and coating processes

* Test and verify UV blocking and blackout performance of fabrics

* Conduct wash durability, colour fastness and performance testing

* Evaluate fabrics against customer and product specifications

* Record, analyse and report all test data, formulations and results

* Maintain accurate shade libraries and work order records

* Support shade management and ensure colour consistency across production batches

* Work closely with R&D, Design and Production teams to resolve colour and performance issues

* Assist in the development of new colours, fabrics and finishes

Job Requirements

* Experience in a textile, coating, dyeing or colour laboratory environment

* Strong understanding of colour theory, shade matching and fabric testing

* Knowledge of UV, blackout, wash and durability testing preferred

* Ability to follow technical specifications and work orders accurately

* Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping

* Confident working with laboratory equipment and testing procedures

* Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments
