Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well‑known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

As an Apprentice Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to learn how our plants operate whilst developing the skills to maintain, repair and improve our factory machinery. You'll gain valuable real‑world experience and work towards an industry‑recognised Engineering Apprenticeship Standard that will support your long‑term career growth. We offer a highly competitive salary and reward package, with pay increasing as you progress through your apprenticeship programme.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Working alongside an engineer to develop your knowledge and experience.
- Develop your knowledge and experience to provide proactive and reactive maintenance using your own initiative.
- Learn fault finding techniques to aid problem-solving.
- Developing your technical skills through both on‑the‑job training and classroom learning.
- You will be a member of a supportive team of engineers who will have an active role in your development.
- Undertaking theoretical and practical training at college.
- A genuine interest in engineering and how things work.
- A practical hands‑on approach with a strong work ethic.
- Someone who enjoys solving problems and finding solutions.
- A team player who communicates well with others.
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Maths, English and Science.
- Industry recognised engineering qualification.
