Kitchen Assistant- Nursery

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and energetic Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery kitchen team, working closely alongside our Head Chef to create fresh, nutritious meals for young children. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same, and where your work genuinely makes a difference to children’s wellbeing and development.

Supporting the Head Chef with daily food preparation and cooking

Helping to prepare balanced, age‑appropriate meals and snacks

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene

Assisting with stock rotation, deliveries, and kitchen organisation

Ensuring meals are prepared safely, following allergen and dietary requirements

Creating a calm, positive kitchen environment that supports the wider nursery team

A genuine interest in food and nutrition

A team player with a positive, can‑do attitude

Good attention to detail and a strong sense of cleanliness

Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a busy kitchen

Experience in a kitchen or food setting is great, but not essential we value the right attitude just as much as experience

Monday to Friday working pattern‑no evenings or weekends
