National Account Manager

Certain Advantage is hiring for a National Account Manager for a fantastic client based in Stockport. The role is permanent, with excellent benefits.

£50,000-£60,000 DOE + car allowance + benefits (Hybrid working)

The Role

My client is seeking a National Account Manager to drive growth. This role combines strategic relationship management with hands‑on field activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth across existing accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders and decision‑makers.
  • Lead promotional planning and activation in line with customer calendars and brand priorities.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within national and large clients.
  • Create and present compelling commercial proposals and pricing strategies.
  • Take ownership of sales forecasting, budget setting, and performance tracking for key accounts.
  • Leverage data and market insights to refine strategies, highlight risks, and unlock opportunities.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with group buyers and procurement teams.
  • Optimise margin delivery while balancing customer value and volume growth.
We’re looking for people who have
  • 3+ years’ experience managing national or large accounts, ideally within the wine sector.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with hands‑on experience in P&L ownership, margin optimisation, and high‑level negotiation.
  • Proven track record in both new business development and long‑term customer relationship management.
  • Strong capability in sales forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Skilled in presentation delivery and building compelling commercial proposals.
  • Genuine passion for wine and hospitality; WSET qualification (or commitment to completing) is an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally as required.
