Part time (18.5 hours per week- flexible working pattern available)

Temporary until December 2027

We are committed to transforming lives through housing and support. We're looking for compassionate, motivated people to join our team, helping individuals leaving prison secure stable accommodation and successfully reintegrate into their communities. This is an incredibly rewarding role where you'll work directly with people who are often facing multiple barriers to housing, helping them move forward and build a better future.

As a CAS3 Support Worker, you'll provide support for people leaving prison, taking a person-centred approach to identify goals, overcome barriers, secure long term accommodation and reduce the risk of reoffending.

In this role, you will:
  • Support residents to move into suitable long term accommodation.
  • Complete risk assessments and personalised support plans.
  • Deliver regular one-to-one support sessions.
  • Work closely with probation services, local authorities and partner agencies.
  • Help residents access essentials such as identification, banking, benefits and healthcare.
  • Signpost individuals to specialist services including mental health, substance misuse and welfare support.
  • Support people to build confidence, independence and positive life outcomes.
About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Can motivate and empower people to make positive changes.
  • Is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Works well in partnership with a range of organisations and professionals.
  • Takes a proactive approach to safeguarding and risk management.
  • Can maintain accurate records and manage their workload effectively.
  • Believes in people's ability to achieve positive outcomes and build on their strengths

The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.

This role will be on SKylight terms and conditions.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
