We are seeking 3-4 experienced Social Workers to join a Children's Services team on a temporary basis to help address a backlog of Children and Young People, predominantly those subject to Child Protection Plans
, who are awaiting transfer to our Safeguarding Service.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled practitioners who are passionate about making a meaningful difference for children and families while supporting an important period of service transformation.
The RoleYou will hold a caseload of children and young people awaiting allocation to the Safeguarding Service, ensuring they receive proactive, high-quality social work intervention during this transitional period.
Working directly with children, families and partner agencies, you will:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people, primarily subject to Child Protection Plans.
- Complete statutory visits, assessments, reviews and care planning in line with legislative requirements.
- Build effective relationships with children and families to improve outcomes and reduce risk.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agent partners to ensure timely and coordinated interventions.
- Prepare cases for a smooth transition into the new Family Help Teams as part of the Families First for Children (FFP) reforms.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports.
You will be:
- A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experienced in frontline children's social care, particularly Child Protection and Safeguarding.
- Confident managing complex caseloads and making sound risk assessments.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
- Committed to achieving positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
- Competitive rate of £40 per hour
