Children's Community Support Worker - Stockport Help Young People Build Confidence and Independence Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people? We're looking for dedicated Children's Community Support Workers to support young people across Stockport , helping them develop life skills, access opportunities within their community, and achieve their individual goals. This is a rewarding role where every shift can make a genuine difference.

About the Role Working directly with children and young people, you'll provide practical and emotional support tailored to their individual needs. Shifts are typically 4-6 hours , focused on promoting independence, wellbeing, and social engagement. Your Responsibilities Supporting children and young people in community-based settings Encouraging participation in social, recreational, and educational activities Helping individuals develop confidence, resilience, and everyday life skills Building positive and trusting professional relationships Following care and support plans to achieve agreed outcomes Providing emotional reassurance and positive role modelling Recording relevant information and reporting concerns appropriately Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional practice What We're Looking For At least 6 months' experience within care, support work, youth work, or a related environment Previous experience supporting children or young people Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and best practice Strong communication and relationship-building skills A compassionate, reliable, and proactive approach Ability to work independently and use your initiative Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Eligibility to work in the UK
