Datamere Software are utility software specialists and are the driving force behind the design and development of one of the UK's leading utility applications - GENUS. GENUS is the software solution for independent gas shippers/suppliers, offering a full life cycle system for both domestic and commercial customers. Power has recently been added into the intuitive dual fuel interface ensuring complete compliance with the D flows in the new XML format.

• The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position
• To help in developing the Datamere utility product GENUS and related software
• Testing recent developments
• Assist in fixing customer bugs, and (to a lesser extent) answering queries, and writing reports in SQL
• Apply strong verbal and listening skills to develop a clear understanding of the business
• Troubleshoot, investigate and solve customers issues
• Document where necessary code, release notes, tutorials
• Advise management on progress
• Training in our development processes in , SQL Server

Velocity apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, they will provide the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace and to expand future career prospects.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, with training in how to:

• Write simple code for discrete software components following an appropriate logical approach to agreed standards
• Apply appropriate secure development principles to specific software components
• Develop user interfaces as appropriate to the type of component being developed
• Apply industry standard approaches for configuration management
• Functionally test that the deliverables for that component have been met or not
