Accounts and Audit Senior

North East An established and respected accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking for a varied role combining audit, accounts preparation and client advisory responsibilities. You will work with a diverse portfolio of businesses, taking ownership of assignments while developing strong client relationships and supporting junior members of the team.

• Manage accounts and audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Prepare year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Carry out audit fieldwork, identify issues and ensure files are completed accurately.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and other compliance requirements.
• Act as a key contact for clients, providing professional support and advice.
• Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance where required.
• Manage workloads effectively to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Maintain strong technical knowledge and keep up to date with regulatory changes.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes and enhance client service.

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong background in both audit and accounts preparation.
• Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
