Job Description & How to Apply Below
Stockton-on-Tees, UK
£26,437 – £30,000 per annum
We are looking for an organised, approachable and motivated individual to support order processing, customer service and the day-to-day running of our branches. This role suits someone who takes pride in accurate work, enjoys helping customers and is keen to learn and grow with the business.
An engineering background is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and interest in our lifting equipment, crane services and testing work are key.
Key Responsibilities:- Process customer orders accurately, checking product details, quantities, pricing and delivery requirements.
- Prepare quotations, sales orders and purchase orders, and maintain up-to-date customer and order records.
- Handle enquiries by telephone and email, providing a professional, helpful service and keeping customers informed of progress.
- Liaise with suppliers, sales colleagues and engineering teams to confirm availability, lead times and customer requirements.
- Support the coordination of deliveries, site visits and engineering work, helping ensure the required information and resources are in place.
- Follow up outstanding orders and enquiries, resolve routine issues and refer technical questions to the appropriate colleague.
- Support general branch administration, including paperwork, invoicing information and accurate system updates.
- Provide holiday cover for Branch Managers, supporting agreed day-to-day duties such as customer enquiries, order oversight and coordination with colleagues. Escalate decisions outside the agreed level of responsibility.
- Assist other areas of the business when required and contribute ideas to improve customer service and order processing.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Clear communication skills and a friendly, professional approach to customers and colleagues.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn our order processing and customer management systems.
- A reliable, flexible team player who can also work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Willingness to develop product knowledge, take on new responsibilities and grow with the business.
Experience:
- Experience in order processing, customer service, sales administration or a similar role.
- An engineering, lifting equipment, crane or industrial background, or familiarity with technical products.
The role offers scope to build knowledge of our products, services and branch operations. As your experience develops, you will be encouraged to support wider business activities and take on additional responsibilities.
