Are you looking to start a career in project management and play a part in delivering renewable energy projects? We’re looking for a Trainee Project Manager to join our Construction team in Stockton-on-Tees, supporting experienced Project Managers across the planning, coordination and delivery of projects from development through construction and handover.
You’ll gain practical experience across the project lifecycle, including programme and budget monitoring, reporting, stakeholder coordination, procurement, document control and site delivery. You’ll also spend time on project sites, building an understanding of how renewable energy projects are delivered safely and effectively in practice.
Alongside the role, you’ll complete the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship, combining structured learning with hands‑on workplace experience. This is a development role designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience to progress towards a career in Project Management within the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities- Support Project Managers in the planning, coordination and delivery of renewable energy projects.
- Assist in monitoring project programmes, milestones, budgets and project risks.
- Produce reports, presentations and project documentation to support project delivery.
- Attend project meetings, record actions and monitor progress against agreed timescales.
- Help coordinate internal teams, contractors, consultants and other external stakeholders.
- Support planning, procurement and commercial activities where appropriate.
- Maintain project documentation and document control in line with company procedures.
- Undertake site visits to build an understanding of project delivery, construction activities and operational requirements.
- Support compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Complete all apprenticeship learning activities and apply your learning within the workplace.
- Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Eligibility to undertake the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to build effective working relationships.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A logical approach to problem solving, with initiative, reliability and professionalism.
- A full UK driving licence, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred.
- A Levels, T Level, BTEC or an equivalent qualification are desirable. A Degree, HNC or HND may also be considered where apprenticeship eligibility criteria are met.
