Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant Sunnyside Academy
Location: Tees Valley

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Band
7) Spinal Column Points 8 - 11 £ 23,939.82 - £25,116.55 per annum. 37 hours per week, term time only including PD days (195 days). Working Schedule Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 4pm. Permanent post.

The school wishes to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and imaginative HLTA to work within the Key Stage 2 phase, and to support the learning of pupils. This is post is to commence as soon as possible.

Sunnyside Academy is an inclusive primary school situated in Coulby Newham with 270+ pupils from the surrounding area. The school also has special needs resource bases for children with communication, sensory impairment and for children with moderate learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will:
  • Work with teachers, within the Key Stage 2 phase, to support teaching and learning through leading on the provision of support to both the teachers and school, including covering classes, supporting pupils with behavioural/emotional needs and leading interventions.

Applicants will possess NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. The school is looking for applicants with excellent communication and IT skills, who can develop effective relationships with pupils and colleagues, and be able to follow teachers’ plans and also take the initiative when appropriate.

Candidates should be suitably qualified and experienced and be able to meet the criteria detailed on the person specification.

Sunnyside Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020).
