Here in Hartlepool, we are continuing to build something special. We are a team that is passionate, driven and proud to make a real difference in our community. If you are looking for more than just a job and want to be part of a workforce where your ideas matter, this could be the role for you.

Hartlepool Best Start Family Hubs are recruiting enthusiastic, committed practitioners to be part of our Best Start Inclusion offer, supporting children aged 0-5 with emerging additional needs, and their families.

You will deliver flexible support on a one to one and group basis in Best Start Family Hubs, community settings, early years provision and family homes to identify needs early and improve developmental outcomes for children. Practitioners will use evidenced based screening and observation tools to assess development and inform support (eg ASQ, Well Comm, ELIM).

As a Best Start Inclusion Practitioner, you will provide practical advice and empower families to navigate and access appropriate services, including for complex needs, working alongside family hub navigators and signposting to trusted services. You will support effective transition from early years to school for children with SEND, additional or emerging needs.

In return we can offer you a competitive salary as well as a range of different benefits including access to a Local Government Pension Scheme; a generous annual leave allowance; access to a range of savings across the UK’s major retailers;
Cycle to Work Scheme; an Employee Assistance Programme and Hybrid working and a flexi scheme where applicable.

Hartlepool Borough is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This post is subject to safer recruitment measures and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required at the appropriate level.
