- To work in accordance with WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies and standard working practices.
- To work in accordance with WESL Quality procedures, policies and standard working practices.
- Work directly with the engineering team to produce CAD Models, drawings and bills of material from specifications, brainstorming meetings, sketches, existing drawings, datasheets, written and verbal descriptions.
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of parts, assemblies, bills of materials and parts lists.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error-free.
- Utilise the CAD system resources to efficiently carry out above-mentioned tasks, eg efficiently produce product variations.
- Follow company procedures and best working practices during day-to-day work activities.
- Perform additional related duties as requested or required.
- Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts using CAD software or manual drafting techniques.
- Interpret engineering, architectural, or design sketches, specifications, and briefs to create accurate drawings.
- Develop both 2D and 3D models where required, depending on project needs.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, mark-ups, and engineering feedback.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to develop and refine designs.
- Prepare fabrication, construction, or manufacturing drawings with full technical detail.
- Check drawings for accuracy, consistency, and completeness prior to issue.
- Maintain drawing registers, version control, and document management systems.
- Incorporate dimensions, tolerances, materials, and technical annotations into drawings.
- Support production, site, or manufacturing teams with drawing clarifications and technical queries.
- Assist in resolving design and drafting issues during project development and execution.
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings in line with project schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drafting standards, tools, and software.
- Good organizational skills and time management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Flexible approach.
- Able to produce detailed engineering drawings to ISO Standards.
- In-depth experience of 3D structural modelling using TEKLA or comparable (preferred).
- Experience in 2d AutoCAD (Essential)
- Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor/Vault (Preferred)
- Practical skills and experience working on mechanical systems would be an advantage.
- Minimum HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical or Structural Discipline.
- Use of MS office, particularly MS Excel.
- 5 hrs per week working 0900 - 1700 hrs Monday-Thursday. Early finish at 1500 hrs. every Friday where hours worked prior.
- 25 days holiday plus statutory with the facility to buy or sell 5 days per annum.
