  • Implementing OT cybersecurity measures in line with IEC 62443
  • Managing alarm systems in accordance with IEC 62682 to support effective operator response
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including control narratives, User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
  • Ensuring compliance with COMAH regulations and relevant engineering and safety standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across control systems and manufacturing operations
About You

We are looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, process control and manufacturing operations, ideally gained within the chemical, petrochemical or similarly regulated process industries.

Ideally, you will have:
  • An HNC, HND, Degree or relevant apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens PCS7 and S7 PLC systems
  • Proven experience designing, developing, commissioning and maintaining industrial control systems
  • A strong understanding of process control and batch manufacturing operations
  • Experience troubleshooting complex automation and control system faults within an operational manufacturing environment

  • Experience contributing to engineering projects, commissioning activities and process improvements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound engineering judgement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and production teams
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver practical engineering solutions

Experience participating in HAZOP and LOPA studies, preparing technical specifications and supporting control system modifications would be advantageous.

The Opportunity
