VAT Manager

KC Group is partnering with a fast-growing, innovative organisation to recruit a VAT Manager to join their high-performing Tax function. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a commercially focused VAT advisory role where you’ll play a key part in shaping VAT strategy, managing risk, and supporting business growth. The Indirect Tax Advisory team is central to delivering high-quality VAT guidance across the business.

You’ll work closely with operational and finance teams, influencing decision-making on everything from new product offerings to complex cross-border transactions.

Key Responsibilities Advisory & Business Partnering Provide practical, timely VAT advice to stakeholders across finance and operational teams Support business initiatives, projects, and transactions to ensure correct VAT treatment Act as a key point of contact for VAT-related queries across the organisation Controls, Risk & Process Improvement Review and enhance VAT controls, processes, and documentation Identify and implement opportunities for system and process improvements Contribute to VAT considerations in finance system and process changes Compliance & Stakeholder Support Support the Head of Indirect Tax with HMRC enquiries and audits Assist with VAT return reviews and compliance activities where required Deliver VAT training and guidance to non-tax teams (AP, Sales, Finance Ops) Team Contribution Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing work where appropriate About You Significant UK VAT experience gained in practice or industry Strong working knowledge of UK VAT legislation, accounting processes, and reporting Professionally qualified (ACCA / ACA / ATT or equivalent) Experience supporting system changes or process improvement initiatives Exposure to advisory work, particularly on transactions or cross-functional projects
