Monday to Thursday 7am to 5pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join a busy and well-established steel manufacturing facility in Thornaby.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident crane operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and has experience handling steel products safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operating a remote-control overhead crane safely and efficiently.
Slinging and moving steel tubes and components around the production area.
Supplying materials to welders and production operatives.
Loading, unloading and positioning materials in line with production requirements.
Following all site health and safety procedures.
Conducting pre-use equipment checks and reporting any defects.
Working as part of a team to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Requirements
Valid Overhead Crane Licence (essential)
Previous experience operating a remote-control overhead crane
Experience with in a steel manufacturing, fabrication or production environment
Competent in slinging and lifting operations
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced production environment
Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Desirable
Previous experience working within a welding or fabrication workshop.
Experience handling steel tubes, beams or heavy materials.
Benefits
£13.87 per hour
Full-time hours - 38 hours per week
